1. Not affiliated with Spotify AB

SpotifyMody is an independent editorial publication. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way associated with Spotify AB. The Spotify name, the Spotify logo, the word "Spotify", and all related audio trademarks are the property of Spotify AB. Our use of these marks is editorial and falls under fair use. Nothing on this site should be construed as an official communication from Spotify AB.

2. We don't host MOD APK files

SpotifyMody is a journalistic publication, not a software distributor. We do not host, store, mirror, or distribute any Spotify MOD APK file on our servers. We do not provide direct download links to any specific APK. The articles on this site describe and discuss MOD APK builds developed by independent third-party developers. If you want to install a MOD APK, you must obtain it from the developer's own release channel, following the verification steps described in our safety field guide.

3. The legal grey-zone, in plain English

Spotify's User Agreement, last updated March 2026, prohibits users from "reverse engineering, decompile, disassemble, modify, or create derivative works based on the Spotify Service or any portion thereof." Installing a modified client is, on most readings of this clause, a violation of Spotify's contractual terms. Spotify reserves the contractual right to terminate any account that signs in through a non-official client.

What this means in practice: Spotify could, in principle, terminate any account that uses a MOD APK. In practice, enforcement is reactive — forced logouts and warnings are common, permanent termination is rare and usually follows multiple warnings or behaviour resembling automated scraping.

What this does not mean: it does not mean that installing a MOD APK is illegal under criminal law in any jurisdiction we are aware of. The legal risk to an individual user is, on the available evidence, negligible. The legal risk to a MOD APK developer is materially higher, and several developers have received takedown notices from Spotify's legal team over the past three years.

SpotifyMody is not a legal advisor. We are journalists. This is not legal advice. If you have specific legal questions about MOD APKs in your jurisdiction, consult a lawyer.

4. We are not responsible for what you install

SpotifyMody reviews and discusses third-party software. We do not develop, host, distribute, endorse, or warranty any specific APK. We are not a party to any agreement between you and a third-party developer. Your installation and use of any third-party software discussed on this site is entirely at your own risk. We are not responsible for any damage to your device, loss of data, account termination, legal consequence, or other harm arising from your use of third-party software discussed on this site.

5. Editorial integrity

Every review on this site reflects the honest opinion of the editorial team, based on at least two weeks of daily-driving the build on real devices. We do not accept payment from MOD APK developers. We do not run sponsored reviews. We do not run paid placements. If we accept a free review unit from a developer (which has happened twice in our history), we disclose it at the top of the review. Editorial integrity is the only asset this site has.

6. Trademark notice

Spotify®, the Spotify logo, and the audio trademarks associated with the Spotify brand are trademarks of Spotify AB. SpotifyMody is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Spotify AB. All other trademarks are the property of their respective owners.

7. No endorsement of illegal activity

This site does not encourage or endorse any violation of Spotify's User Agreement or any applicable law. We publish journalistic coverage of a phenomenon that exists in the open, and we point readers toward safer alternatives when those alternatives meet the same feature bar. The decision about whether to install a MOD APK is yours, made with awareness of the relevant terms and laws.

8. Changes to this disclaimer
