We run standard website analytics (Google Analytics 4) to understand which articles people read and which they ignore. We use the newsletter signup form to collect email addresses from readers who want the weekly dispatch. We do not sell, share, rent, or trade your data with anyone. We do not run third-party advertising networks. We do not use third-party tracking pixels beyond Google Analytics. We do not fingerprint your device. We do not use any data we collect for any purpose other than operating this website.

If you sign up for the newsletter and later decide you don't want it anymore, every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link. The full text below is the formal version of the same commitment.

1. Information we collect

Automatically collected data. When you visit spotifymody.live, our web server logs standard HTTP request information: your IP address (truncated for privacy), the URL you requested, the URL of the referring page, your browser user agent, and the timestamp of the request. We retain these logs for 30 days for security and debugging, then delete them.

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which articles are read and which are not. Google Analytics collects anonymized usage data including page views, session duration, scroll depth, and the country of origin (derived from your IP). We have enabled IP anonymization. We do not enable Google Signals or any cross-device tracking. We do not share our Analytics data with Google's advertising products.

Newsletter signup. If you subscribe to the weekly dispatch, we collect your email address. We use this email address to send you the weekly newsletter and nothing else. We do not add you to any other mailing list. We do not share your email with any third party. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any newsletter email.

Contact form submissions. If you use the contact form on our contact page, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you provide. We use this information only to respond to your message. We do not add you to any mailing list based on a contact form submission.

2. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. First-party cookies set by spotifymody.live remember your reading position on long articles and your newsletter subscription status. Third-party cookies set by Google Analytics (the _ga and _ga_* cookies) are used for analytics. We do not use advertising cookies. We do not use third-party retargeting pixels. You can clear all cookies from this site by clearing your browser's site data for spotifymody.live.

3. Embedded content

Articles on this site may embed YouTube videos, Spotify web player links, or GitHub repository links. These embedded widgets may set their own cookies and collect their own data when you interact with them. SpotifyMody does not control the data practices of these third-party services.

4. Data retention

We retain server logs for 30 days, then delete them. We retain newsletter email addresses until you unsubscribe. We retain contact form submissions for 90 days, then delete them. We retain Google Analytics data for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted by Google's default data-retention policy.

5. Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, correct, port, and erase the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict our processing of that data. If you are in California, you have similar rights under the CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@spotifymody.live and we will respond within 30 days.

6. Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, write to privacy@spotifymody.live and we will delete the data within 7 days.

7. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will post a notice on the homepage for at least 14 days before the changes take effect, and we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Minor changes (typo fixes, clarifications) will be made without notice.
